Some people don’t quite understand the job of someone in the Information Technology field. That’s because it is such a deep and diverse job. You are required to wear many different hats including that of an electrician when it comes to running phone wire, that of a diplomat when it comes to working with other providers on site like HughesNet Internet, and that of a simple phone man.
Often times you will be tasked with running phone wires in construction areas where people will eventually be setting up their offices and need access. Sometimes you might even need to dance around the sheet rock installers and electricians in the area while you do your work – it’s all part of the job.
Other times you’ll need to coordinate and collaborate with off-site technicians. Like the example we mentioned earlier, say you have a modem or a router in your building or institution that is HughesNet brand. If you don’t contact them to figure out the best way to proceed, you might do something unfortunate like void a warranty because you decided to go it alone instead of consulting them.
The IT field, if nothing else, is never boring and, especially in this day and age, you won’t have any shortage of things to do.
